i thought i would seek the wisdom/experience of this august group regarding one of those nagging 'dumb questions'. the manual bilge pump on my boat does not work. the simple solution i thought would be to purchase a replacement pump through catalina direct.

i also have a catalina 27 1974 with the 'dinette' configuration below and fitted for an outboard. not sure about ocean sailing but it's a beauty on lake ontario. it can turn on a dime at slow speeds as long as the wind is down a bit. also if the tiller has some play check the bolt that holds it to the rudder post.
